Skate/ Bike Park & BMX Track Designer

Salary Range: $30,000-$60,000 + Benefits
Position Overview: Skate/ Bike/ Park Designer will be responsible for the successful delivery of skate/ bike and landscape design projects reporting to our award-winning design team. This includes
concept and technical design development; management of clients (internal and external); quality and cost control of projects and supporting construction implementation. Ideal candidates will have
a minimum of 3-5 years of Skate/ Bike Park specific conceptual and detailed design experience with strong communication abilities to collaborate with both internal and external project stakeholders (ie.
Municipal staff, advocacy groups, user groups, civil/structural engineers and landscape architects.
Proficient in Autocad, Lumion, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word
Excel and MS Project. Knowledge of Civil 3D is an asset.
Minimum 3-5 years of industry related experience (Landscape Architecture,
Architecture, or Civil Engineering Design desired but not necessary. Portfolio of work strongly recommended.
Industry based degree (Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Civil
Engineering Diploma desired but not necessary if a strong skill set has been established)
Ensure our clients are being well managed through open, clear and frequent
communication
- Internally – with other departments, sub-consultants, sub-contractors, partners
- Externally – with project clients, additional stakeholders
- Base data collection, review and base map development
- Concept design progression, modeling and graphic development
- Graphic preparation and support for the public consultation process
- Detailed design, engineering and working drawing development
- Preparation of technical specifications
- Project budget management (Efficient time management)
- Quantity surveying
- Estimating, pricing support
- Manage projects according to NLS quality control systems (checklist, etc.)
- Participate in the ongoing development and continuous improvements of NLS’s
- Design processes and systems.
- Site reviews, progress meetings when necessary
- Construction team support as needed
- Previous Skate/ Bike Park Design / Industry related Drafting Experience
- Social Involvement in the Skateboarding Community
- Demonstrated creativity and adept in problem solving
